The Interdisciplinary Centre for Urban Culture and Public Space aims at a strategic consolidation of previous research efforts at the interface between International Urban Studies, Urban Design and Urban Planning with a special focus on questions of Urban Culture and Public Space as well as a general interest in the critical analysis of the capitalist urban development in the 20th and 21st century. The initial point of our studies is the lived space in which everyday life in cities unfolds in a diverse and ambivalent fashion.
