Anita Susani is a university assistant and doctoral candidate at the Research Department Urban Culture and Public Space. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Politics and Government from Bocconi University in Milan and a Master’s degree in Socio-Ecological Economics and Policy from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. During her Bachelor’s studies, she studied for a semester at Cornell University in the Department of Human Ecology.
As a social scientist trained in qualitative and participatory methods, her research focuses on socio-ecological transitions, with particular focus on housing precarity and inequality. It examines the urban housing affordability crisis and the intersections between housing and climate policies, and how multi-level governance shapes these dynamics and their social outcomes. The empirical work is situated in European metropolitan regions, particularly in Italian and Austrian contexts.
Before starting her doctorate, she worked as a junior scientist on social impacts of climate policy and participation in several Horizon Europe projects at different Austrian, Italian and international research institutes and universities.
